About the Institute

# The Rick Goings Institute for Management and Executive Leadership

Leadership education for an era of AI acceleration, geopolitical volatility, and institutional uncertainty.

## Research and Education Built for Real Leadership Demands

Drawing on pragmatic liberal arts and advanced management scholarship, the Rick Goings Institute equips senior leaders to build organizations that last, contribute, and stay vital in demanding times. Program participants develop three core operating disciplines that work in combination.

## Three Core Disciplines

### Strategic Foresight

The capacity to understand how today's choices shape tomorrow's realities. It draws on prospective analysis and the discipline to recognize patterns before they harden into crises.

### Operational Vitality

Treating the organization as a living system. Charts and processes do not create performance; human energy, trust, and belief do. Culture is the medium in which strategy lives or dies.

### Stewardship Mindset

Recognizing the firm as a citizen, not just a market actor. Every organization depends on the human and civic environments that grant it legitimacy.

 The Namesake

## Rick Goings

Chairman and CEO, Tupperware Brands (15+ Years)

Across a career leading Avon and Tupperware, Rick built global enterprises that were commercially serious and visibly committed to the people they served. His humanitarian work on women's equality and children's welfare has been recognized internationally, including with France's Legion of Honor.

Rick also brings a rare personal discipline to leadership: he reads widely, thinks carefully, practices meditation daily, and has lived the belief that a leader's judgment is shaped by more than professional success. The Institute exists because he believes what he built cannot be taught in a case study. It has to be practiced, in the company of people who have done it.

In His Own Words

On Leadership

"The best leaders are not the smartest people in the room. They are the ones who create the conditions for others to do their best work."

On Culture

"Sustained performance is a culture problem, not a strategy problem. The strategy is the easy part. Making an organization believe in it is the work."

On This Generation

"Executives today face a fundamentally different challenge than any prior generation. The speed of change has outpaced most leadership development systems."

## Fostering Leaders with the Perspective to Lead Wisely

Within a few blocks of the Rollins campus, three exceptional institutions exist in rare proximity — each outstanding on its own, and collectively unlike anything else in executive education. Together, they form what might be called the Rollins triangle: a convergence of scholarship, culture, and commerce that creates an unusual environment for leadership development.

Scholarship without aesthetic sense produces analysis without wisdom. Commerce without culture produces growth without meaning. Culture without rigorous inquiry produces beauty without direction. The triangle holds because each side depends on the other two.

Scholarship

#### The Rick Goings Institute

Original research and executive education rooted in pragmatic liberal arts and advanced management scholarship. The Institute is where ideas about leadership are developed, tested, and taught.

Culture

#### The Tiffany Museum

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, home to the world's most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany. A reminder that the most lasting work is always both beautiful and purposeful.

Commerce

#### The Alfond Inn

A boutique hotel operating as a social enterprise, with proceeds supporting Rollins student scholarships. Proof that commercial success and civic contribution are not in tension — they are the same project.
